5th Apr – Murdoch University – Are You a Threat To Your Organisation’s Cybersecurity?.Brown Bag Workshop Schedule – 5th April to 4th May This type of meeting is referred to as Brown Bag because participants. We will also discuss how human-related threats have shaped the way organisations manage information security and how the cybersecurity profession has evolved. Brown Bag Sessions (BBS) are knowledge-sharing events organized by SpringFive once every three weeks, during lunch break. This MasterClass will touch on the challenges of the human factor to organisations and the recommendations to prevent one of the most vexing concerns of cybersecurity professionals. Whether intentional or otherwise, the 2021 Data Breach Investigations Report by Verizon noted that nearly 85% of security breaches in 2020 involved a human element, with 22% of incidents directly originating from trusted insiders. Insiders are trusted employees, temporary employees, consultants and contractors who have legitimate access to an organisation’s information assets. According to the security company Tessian, 2018 to 2020 saw a 47% increase in insider-related incidents. Trusted insiders are widely recognised as a key source of cybersecurity breaches within organisations.
